Role : Embedded Digital Hardware Design and Development

The primary responsibility is validation of gasoline powertrain control software in a Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) Simulation environment for early software builds. This position will also perform software validation in prototype vehicles for software releases closer to production during peak testing times.

  • Work closely with software developers to create hardware in the loop (HIL)-specific test cases to determine proper function of powertrain Control software• Configure and validate DTC and DID , Diagnostic testing on HIL
  • Develop procedures to test Diagnostic and other Powertrain monitors on HIL• Verify vehicle model stability and performance under various vehicle operating conditions
  • Work closely with calibration engineers and software engineers to troubleshoot software issues• Maintain HIL system operation with updates to interface models, system hardware, user interfaces, and test automation as required• Flash, configure, and test powertrain control software as needed in prototype vehicles
  • Lead issue resolution of issues uncovered during software validation

Desired skills

 dSpace HIL development and integration experience

• Need to be familiar with dSpace toolchains link ASM, Control Desk, Configuration Desk etc

.• Knowledge of UDS and Diagnostic protocols• Test case scripting background using Python

• Ability to interact with vendors and internal Ford customers (various groups under PT) for HIL upgrade and maintenance

• Power Train related controls HILs testing experience
